Hats for Charity - 2008 Wrap Up

Project: Hats for City Union Mission from local AT&T Telecom Pioneers.

Personal Goal: Make 48 hats in 2008.
Hats made in Oct.: 1
Hats made Jan. thru Oct.: 40

My 2008 Hats for Charity project ended with a whimper and 8 hats short of my goal. In October, I did little knitting or crochet allowing a sore wrist to rest. Then I became a Project Linus coordinator and life got busy. So the project wrapped up with one hat made in October.

This cap is a "Formula" hat made in half double crochet with a flared brim. The cap is made with miscellaneous leftover yarn, primarily red with scraps of cream and black. Since there is only the one cap to show, I'm giving you both a front and a side view.

All hats were delivered to City Union Mission the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Interwoven Leaves Socks Finished

I'm going to try to catch up on a few things I've yet to blog about. Between Project Linus responsibilities and getting ready for Christmas, blogging hasn't been a priority.

Interwoven Leaves socks

First, my Interwoven Leaves socks are finished. Started on July 5, they were finished on October 4, 2008. The yarn is by Regia. The design is a combination/adaptation of two patterns, Wendy’s Fingering Weight, Toe-Up Socks with Gusset and Slip-Stitch Heel and Orange Leaf Socks.

For more details on the yarn and the design, please see my original Interwoven Leaves Socks post.
