Easy X's is a quilt design I created a few years ago. In its' simplist form, you cut large squares of 2 contrasting fabrics. You need one square of fabric for each block in the quilt. Then make hour glass blocks using your favorite method. Use ¼ of the usable width of the fabric for the size of your squares to minimize fabric waste.
I was responsible for bringing a project for our 3rd Sunday Project Linus group to work on last month. I cut 10 inch squares of several different fabrics and let everyone do their own mixing and matching. Everyone turned out to be just Jodie, Christy and I. Jodie followed directions and created this blue and yellow top.
Christy, in typical Christy fashion, applied her creativity to the project and created the top below. She said it would ruin the teddy bears to cut the brown fabric into smaller pieces. Me? I stayed with the basic project and created a top similar to Jodie's, but in green and white prints.
