Pink Panther Quilt Challenge

Pink Panther quilt challenge fabric

Combine come cute Pink Panther fabric, found on clearance in a Nebraska quilt shop, with the perfect shade of violet dots from JoAnns Fabrics and you've got the ingredients for a quilt challenge. I thought this would be a fun event for my Project Linus blanketeers and also be a way to raise funds to help pay for newsletters, blanket labels, etc.

Five intrepid blanketeers met the challenge and made quilts. Attendees at our National Make a Blanket Day event voted for their favorite(s) with money. We raised a grand total of $19.72. Ah well, on to the quilts.

Bonnie's Challenge Quilt

Fifth place, the quilt made by Bonnie. I love how she used the last bit of the Pink Panther fabric for the innermost border of the 3 borders.

Vickie's 9 Patch Quilt

Fourth place, Vickie's quilt is traditional 9 patch blocks.

Jodie's Strippy Quilt

Third place, Jodie found a wild pink print to mix with the challenge fabrics in a strippy style.

Bessie's Friendship Stars Quilt

Second place, Bessie used friendship star blocks and a variety of fabrics to create her entry.

Sandy's Puzzle Quilt

And the winner is Sandy with an original puzzle block design and a variety of fabrics. Sandy's quilt received over half of the votes.
