Update on Website Shutdown

The work I plan to do before shutting down my Handcrafting with Love website at handcraftingwithlove.net is progressing in spurts, but slowly overall. Currently, all of my patterns have been copied to this blog.

Today I removed the pattern instructions on handcraftingwithlove.net and added a link to the new location on the blog on all of the pattern pages. The Ravelry pattern pages have been updated with the new locations.

I still have to copy the list of charities (which is somewhat out of date) and the charity tips pages to the blog before I shut down the website. So many other things I'd rather be doing, thus the slow progress. But the time for the website has passed.

Libby's Patriotic Four Patch - Free Quilt Pattern

Patriotic Four Patch quilt

Just added to the Handcrafting with Love website, Libby's Patriotic Four Patch is an easy quilt design made with 4 coordinating fabrics. Instructions are given for traditional piecing from cut squares and for strip piecing, so choose whichever method you prefer.

Libby's Patriotic Four Patch was written as a Christmas gift for my BFF's mom. I designed this as something she can make for charities such as Project Linus or for the patients at her local Veterans Administration hospital. The quilt top finishes at 40" by 60" and uses 3/4 yard each of 4 different fabrics.

Griddle Stitch Beanie - Free Crochet Pattern

Recently added to the Handcrafting with Love website, the Griddle Stitch Beanie is quick to make. This free pattern is available in 2 sizes. The stitch pattern creates an interesting texture and the hat is designed to fit snugly for maximum warmth.

Two and a half to 3 ounces of worsted weight yarn makes a hat. Make a solid color hat or add stripes for a great way to add interest and use small amounts of leftover yarn. The Griddle Stitch Beanie is a great project for a quick gift or to donate to charity.
